The school is situated on a five-acre campus at the intersection of Highway 401 and Highway 404 in the heart of Metro Toronto. From our central location, there is convenient access by highway or by public transit to the airport, the bus station, the city subway system and a great variety of cultural and recreational attractions. The school is within walking distance of the Sheppard, Victoria Park and Don Mills bus routes. During morning and evening rush hour periods the Sheppard 85C bus and the Victoria Park 24A buses stop right in front of the school. TYS also has two school buses and one highway coach to transport students between schools and on various educational field trips.

The school year extends from September through June. Selected credit courses and the language program are also offered during the months of July and August. The school day begins at 8:45 a.m. and ends at 3:04 p.m.

Parents should expect that all students will participate fully in the entire school program. If health problems restrict such participation in any way, exceptions will be made if verified as necessary by the family doctor. All students must be immunized according to the Ontario Ministry of Health regulations. An optional student accident insurance program is also available.

School holidays generally coincide with the public schools of the area. There is a two-week holiday period at Christmas and one week at March Break. Long weekend breaks occur in November and February and the school is closed for the normal statutory holidays.

Students in grades 7 - 12 must purchase their own textbooks.
