General Information | NTCS Program | Curriculum | Athletics | Admissions Policy | Application Form/Documents | School Calendar | Transportation | Fees | Readiness | Age | Behaviour | Attitude | Family Discounts | Summary

The intention of the North Toronto Christian School is to provide the best possible academic education within a Christian environment. To facilitate this objective, the admissions policy is:

Readiness

A criteria for admission to any grade. General achievement should not be more than three months below grade placement. Exceptions will be made in unusual circumstances if lower achievement can be satisfactorily explained and we feel that our program can be helpful.

Age

Junior kindergarten children should be four years of age, senior kindergarten children should be five years of age, and grade one children should be six years of age by December 31 of the year of admission.

Behaviour

Students from other schools must have a deportment record or recommendation that is average or above average.

Attitude

Children should have a general eagerness toward learning, commensurate with their age. Children who have developed a contempt for the Christian way of life will not be enrolled. Children above the grade four level should be attending the school by their own choice.

Because of the great demand for places in the elementary school in recent years, it should be understood that many families who may satisfy the above general standards will still not gain admission to the school the first year that they apply simply due to a lack of available space.

Family Discounts

Tuition fees are set annually and structured to provide for the operating needs of the school. As a family oriented school, it is our desire to keep our rates as reasonable as possible to make our program affordable to most families. For that reason there are generous discounts when more than one child from a family is enrolled.

Summary

Admission is based on the availability of space, a personal interview, analysis of the previous report card, an admissions test (if necessary), written indication by parents of support for our program and a verbal indication of interest by the student. When the application has been approved and the registration fee and capital deposit have been received, a letter of acceptance will be issued to reserve a place in the class.
