Chandos Outdoor Education
Centre exists to provide an opportunity for young
people to learn in the outdoors. Genesis 1:1 says that "In
the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth,"
and Psalm 19:1 states, "The heavens declare the glory of
God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they
pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge."
Using the Chandos
facilities, children and adults are introduced to the Creator and
Sustainer of the world by experiencing the world in all its
diversity. Additionally, there is personal development and the
social value of learning to function effectively in an unfamiliar
environment. The emphasis of Chandos is on education, not
recreation, so each visit will be a significant learning
experience. Each student will return with new facts learned and
new skills developed.
